Weekend Wrap Up - Sept. 16th

This was a jam packed weekend; full of cakes, a wedding, friends, and family!

This weekend we had the absolute privilege of helping two of the most wonderful people join together their two families.  This celebration was a fantastic display of love and commitment and was highlighted by a sand ceremony which symbolized the mixing of  two families.  It was truly a beautiful moment.

On top of this fabulous wedding, there were just a few cakes mixed into the weekend, some highlights of which can be seen further down the page.  First up though, lets take a peek at some of the details from this wedding at the Captain's Inn in Forked River

Congratulations John & Ann Marie

This welcome sign was hand made by the bride and displayed on one of our easels which we highlighted with a touch of greenery.

Some New Details

Building on the gray undertones of the welcome sign, we were able to introduce a few new pieces that featured our weathered gray finish and coordinated quite nicely.

Two as One Sign

A fresh design from our handmade collection we were able to incorporate this lovely wooden plaque, which we featured on the bar and highlighted with simple florals and pictures.

Square Pallet Cake Stand

Made from reclaimed wood this cake stand was finished in our weathered gray finish and worked perfectly to pull the gray undertones to the cake table.

Two as One Sign

Incorporating the weathered gray details right along to the centerpieces on the table, we used these handmade table numbers, fresh from the shop, adding a touch of congruity.

A new on an old favorite

Our rustic donut wall has always been one of our most popular items, but this is the first time we have used it to literally help one of our couples 'tie the knot'.  Featuring Philly Pretzel Factory Pretzels and dips this Pretzel Bar was rolled out toward the end of the night along with the desserts, making a lovely send off for the guests.

Ceremony Details

The Ceremony turned out beautiful! Featuring a wood arbor, provided by the venue, as the backdrop, which we added some cream and blush floral touches mixed with greenery to add the touch of color.

The Aisles were doted with large cylinder vases and lit with LED pillar candles, again accented by greenery.  Bringing natural elements in and setting the stage for what would be a beautiful ceremony.

The Sand Ceremony

A more contemporary twist on the classic tradition of the unity candle, the sand ceremony represents the joining of two families, with each member bringing their own unique aspects to the new single family.  Like each grain of sand, every member of the family is unique in their own way and the mixing of the sand serves to show how each person will be part of the new family.

For this ceremony every member had their own color sand, five children, the bride and groom then poured their colors together signifying the joining of the two families as one.

Reception Details

The reception was an amazing display of detail.  Carrying over the themes from the ceremony we created centerpieces featuring smaller cylinder vases with flickering LED candles surrounded by greenery.  We tied the reception details together with our weathered gray finish, which we featured on the table numbers, signs, and cake stand.  For an additional pop we lightly mixed in some gold votives.

The Welcome table featured our card box and a specialty guest book.  The specialty guest box was framed container which utilizes wooden hearts that guests sign and place into the frame creating a keepsake the couple will have forever.

Stylized Events was responsible for the design, decor rental set-up and break-down, aspects of planning, floral arrangements, and portions of day-of coordination.  Rebecca Yankowski made the beautiful and tasty wedding cake (as well as two other cakes not shown for other honorees).

A special thanks goes out to the staff and management of the Captain's Inn, who were extremely professional, courteous, and efficient.  They run a tight ship there (Yep! Pun intended).

And now for your Weekend BONUS

Cakes

In addition to this fantastic wedding, Rebecca was able to create some amazing cakes for some very special friends.

3 Tier Sweet 16

This cake was full of elegance and started with a bottom tier of chocolate cake and oreo filling, moved to a middle tier of vanilla with strawberry filling and was topped with a tier of vanilla cake with vanilla filling and of course a gold crown. Just gotta love the pink and gold!

Ryan's World Egg Cake

Adjusted to reflect the special Birthday Boys name, this vanilla cake had an extra surprise built in , with a toy in the middle for the birthday boy to find.  What an 'eggcellent' way to celebrate a birthday!

Amazon Box

How much fun is this!  For that special someone in your life who seems to always be getting that delivery from Amazon.  This cake was chocolate on chocolate with a cannoli filling and featured fondant accents to create the logos and shipping labels!
