Weekend Wrap Up - Aug. 8th
This was a long weekend at Longacre Farms, all the way out in Susquehanna, PA – a bit far from our home base -- but HOLY COW, was it worth the trip. This venue was beautiful, and honestly that is an understatement. The rural setting is highlighted by acres of green grass and spotted with small ponds and lakes that create an ideal setting for the perfect barn wedding. The showstoppers were the centuries old barn that served as the back drop for the reception and the lush acres of farmland backed by thick woods that served as host for the ceremony.
The Ceremony
The bride and groom chose a stunning location and for a such a location you must add amazing details!
The ceremony was set on top of a hill with a quaint wooded path reminiscent of something out of a Robert Frost poem in the background. Real wood stumps fashioned into pews made for the perfect rustic setting and the accents added just the right amount of Bohemian Free Spirit Style.
Guests were greeted by a handmade wooden welcome sign and hand held fans which doubled as the program. Paper cones with flower petals in the basket on the other side placed on top of unique furniture pieces backed by beautiful antique doors.
We lined the aisle with a variety of rugs hand picked by the bride giving some unique styling to the rustic setting and accented it with pompas grass in mix matched vases.
This all led up to the rustic wood triangular arch, we lightly accented with pompas grass, greenery and interspersed with wild flowers adding some beautiful soft details to the wooded backdrop of the ceremony.
Cocktail Hour
This couple not only has style, but they know how to have FUN! With an eclectic mix of vintage chairs, furniture, and rustic boho accents the Cocktail hour ended up looking super cute!
With the addition of some lawn games, cocktail hour turned out to be a blast! Corn hole, Giant Jenga, Oversized Connect Four and Can Jam gave everyone something to enjoy!
The Reception
The beauty of this wedding continued straight through the reception with fabulous accents and amazing details. There were so many intricate details, from the greenery we added to the brides peacock rattan chair, to the adorable succulent favors the bride put together, to the eclectic china and glassware, so many details that it would be impossible to cover them all. Here are some highlights.
Accent Greenery
Accent greenery was sporadically placed throughout the venue adding some natural touches.
Macrame Table Runners
Macrame runners were used as anchors for several of the table scapes.
Lace Table Runners
Delicate lace runners were used for other table scapes and the cake table.
Terrariums
Terrariums with succulents were scattered down the table scapes adding an additional layer.
Wildflowers
Mismatched vintage styled vases were set with a variety of wild flowers, adding style, color, and beauty.
Place Settings
The place settings featured mismatched vintage china, glasses, goblets, and gold cutlery provided by Te Rosa Tables and cream napkins that we provided and folded under the plates. All of this combined with our vintage styled vases, lace and macrame table runners, wildflowers, and gold votives, these tables simply became the epitome of what a barn wedding should look like.
Stylized Events provided Design and Planning services, Day of Coordination, Decor Rentals, Table Top Rentals, Linen Rentals, Floral Arrangement, Set-up and Breakdown.
